Dr. Zhengyu Yuan is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of MicuRx. With over 28 years of experience in drug discovery and development, focusing on novel antibiotics, and more than 30 publications in peer-reviewed scientific and pharmaceutical industry journals, he is responsible for the overall control of MicuRx’s strategic development and pipeline layout. Prior to MicuRx, Dr. Yuan was formerly the co-founder of Vicuron and contributed to corporate business development. He also participated in the development of commercialized antibacterial product Dalbavancin and anti-fungi drug Anidulafungin. Vicuron went public on Nasdaq in 2000 and was acquired by Pfizer in Jun 2005 for $1.9 billion, which was the largest deal in antimicrobial development that year. Prior to co-founding Vicuron, he also held various management positions at Syntex and Affymax. Dr. Yuan holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Cornell University.
